Connecting for better

Our goal:
The River Valley Broadband Coalition works to not only get high-speed internet to our communities, but also to make sure our community can afford it and know how to use it effectively.

Our goal is to provide access to a minimum of 100 Mbps upload and download speed to everyone in the River Valley school district area by 2025.  We recognize that this goal will be very difficult to achieve, but it is our hope for our community that they will not have to wait any longer for reliable access.

We’re here to answer your questions about internet service in the River Valley. Contact us about:

  • Getting better internet to your home or business: we can tell you about upcoming fiber projects or other options.

  • How to help lower the cost of your internet service.

  • How to get training and technical support.

What the Coalition provides:

  • Information exchange:  The Coalition offers a mechanism for municipalities and other members to share experiences, best practices, and knowledge to move everyone forward.

  • Community awareness:  The Coalition provides education and information about ongoing broadband projects and how the community can support these projects.

  • Coordination of data/information gathering activities:  Broadband projects often require data gathering, including surveying residents or mapping data.   By creating centralized information repositories and gathering and presentation tools, the Coalition can make these activities easier.

Membership:
Membership can include anyone interested in broadband in our area (including county and municipal governments, the school district, technology experts, and others who are interested in participating). If you are interested in becoming a member of the coalition, please contact Stef at stef@rivervalleycommons.org

Meetings:
The Coalition meets quarterly. See the events page for more information.
