Connecting for better

Our goal:
The River Valley Broadband Initiative works to not only get high-speed and affordable internet to our communities, but also to increase digital access and education throughout the River Valley.

Our goal is to provide access to a minimum of 100 Mbps upload and download speed to everyone in the River Valley school district area.  We also hope to be a valuable resource in enabling tech access and education through digital navigation assistance and broader technology education.

We’re here to answer your questions about internet service in the River Valley. Contact us about:

What the Initiative provides:

  • Information exchange:  The Initiative offers a mechanism for municipalities and other members to share experiences, best practices, and knowledge to move everyone forward.

  • Community awareness:  The Initiative provides education and information about ongoing broadband and digital education projects and how the community can support these projects.

  • Coordination of data/information gathering activities:  Broadband projects often require data gathering, including surveying residents or mapping data.   By creating centralized information repositories and gathering and presentation tools, the Initiative can make these activities easier.

Membership:
Membership can include anyone interested in broadband or tech help in our area (including county and municipal governments, the school district, technology experts, and others who are interested in participating). If you are interested in becoming a member of the Initiative, please contact Stef at stef@rivervalleycommons.org

Meetings:
The Initiative meets quarterly. See the events page for more information.
